St. Dymphna, patroness of those suffering from mental and nervous disorders

In the Spotlight

Ian D., who is from Seattle, sought help when he was struggling as a Freshman at Cal Poly. His GPA was 2.3; he was feeling overwhelmed and discouraged. Ian’s story of detentions and poor performance early on in school was pretty typical of a kid with ADHD. He was motivated to improve his grades as a high school senior so he could get into college. Once Ian was diagnosed with ADHD and his symptoms were managed Ian’s academic performance began to improve. He felt much more encouraged and confident. Ian made the Dean’s List his last two years as an undergraduate. He recently graduated with a degree in Economics and received an award for Outstanding Senior Project. Ian was offered admissions into the Masters of Quantitative Economics Program which he has started remotely.

Congratulations, Ian!
